Susan Reed

Susan Reed is a partner with Sax LLP and head of the firm’s health care practice. A graduate of Montclair State University, Susan has extensive accounting and tax experience focusing on the health care industry.

She prides herself on her ability to solve even the most complex issues through innovative and tailored solutions for clients that include large regional medical groups, single and multispecialty practices, ambulatory surgery centers, dental practices and medical laboratories.

Susan’s primary focuses are acting as an operational consultant for medical and dental practices, assisting groups with mergers and acquisitions, and guiding group practices through the formation of super groups. Susan’s advisory practice focuses on, but is not limited to, physician practice assessment, physician compensation, practice succession planning, practice valuation, taxation, group practice evaluation, strategic business planning and new practice set up.

Outside of her job, Susan enjoys boating and kayaking, and she has a long record of working various community groups and associations, including the St. Joseph’s Health Foundation. She also is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association; Medical Group Management Association; and Sax P.O.W.E.R (Professional Organization of Women Empowerment and Results).

Susan is a Certified Public Accountant in New Jersey, and a Certified Financial Planner, with membership in the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She was also named one of “New Jersey’s Best Women in Business,” by NJBIZ in 2009. She is also a frequent speaker and author for many industry associations on relevant health care issues.
